It’s the climactic event of Mardi Gras in Lake Charles—the 2026 Mardi Gras Southwest Krewe of Krewes Parade happening Tuesday, February 9 (Fat Tuesday) at 5:00 PM! Get your purple, green, and gold ready, because it’s time to be a little gaudy and immerse yourself in the most thrilling and high-energy parade of the season.

As the grand finale of the Mardi Gras celebrations, this parade features over 60 krewes on elaborate floats, tossing thousands of beads, cups, doubloons, and other goodies to the cheering crowds. The atmosphere is electric, with music blasting from every float and a festive vibe that fills the air! People claim their spots along Ryan Street early in the day, tailgating with friends, preparing for an unforgettable evening of parade magic.

The streets will be filled with the excitement of people calling out, “Throw me somethin’ mister!” as they try to catch the treasures flying through the air. Parade Route
The parade begins at the Lake Charles Event Center, traveling along West Pine Street, continuing down Ryan Street, and finishing at Sale Road.
