Children's Stroll

The City of Lake Charles’ 2026 Children’s Mardi Gras Stroll returns on Saturday, February 14 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The parade, which debuted in 2022, is a walking parade designed specifically for children ages 3-12. Children are encouraged to decorate their Mardi Gras umbrellas and prepare to show off their Mardi Gras spirit! Registration will begin at 9 AM and line-up will begin at 9:30 AM at the Lakefront Promenade. There is no fee to enter.

Young revelers will meet on the North side of Millennium Park then parade down Gill Street to Bord Du Lac and return to Millennium Park. Streets will be closed down allowing children to strut to the tunes of the Second Line Stroll. Make plans to attend the Mardi Gras craft workshop at Historic City Hall on Saturday, February 15 to have a personalized Mardi Gras accessory to add to your ensemble!

This is a walking parade only, with no throws, and for the safety of all of our participants, no motorized vehicles, bikes, strollers, skateboards or pets are allowed.
